A Business That I Love, That Loves Me Right Back
During my time off, I published my first audio program, “Grow It!™: The $1000 a Day Business Model.” In it, I shared the strategies and steps I’ve used with clients to design their “Dream Business Blueprint” and then to help them make it happen. I also worked with a limited number of clients by telephone who were mostly referrals from my network back east.
I continued to voraciously read any new business book and attend online programs to learn how to best leverage the new ideas, trends, and maverick strategies. (Okay, I confess - I’m a business idea addict!) Yes, ideas are fun. Yet, since I can only share what works with my clients, I continued to try out what I learned. I also continued to take family trips with my husband and children and sometimes (bonus!) alone with my hubby.
And one day it occurred to me that what I really wanted was a “have business, will travel” lifestyle. I wanted a business that I loved, that loves me right back, with clients I enjoy, lots of money, and a freedom-based lifestyle.
Sounded really good to me. I needed a global business that could be run anytime, from anywhere. So I got started creating just that.
On the Road to Creating the Dream Business
Today, I continue to grow my global community by belonging to different virtual mastermind groups and inner circle teams that meet by phone. I am comfortable doing my work with my clients by phone, email, and web. As the past owner of a graphic design and web development studio, I am also extremely comfortable creating and selling products online for my clients.
Now I find that I want to test out the online marketing strategy everyone is talking about – article marketing. Article marketing has gotten a lot of press lately (right up there with blogs and podcasts). The master marketers I follow, swear by it as a way to:
- grow your list,
- build your brand,
- build trust,
- attract your ideal clients,
- become known as an expert,
- spread the word about what you do, and
- thereby, helping you make more money and build a sustainable business you love.
These are all the things I help my clients do using other online marketing tools, so I thought, “Why not try article marketing and see how it works for me.”
Using Big Goals for Inspiration
Since I’m never at a loss for ideas or business growth strategies, I’m certain to have more than enough article topics. What I needed was inspiration, and for some quirky reason, big goals inspire me.
My article marketing goal became to write and publish one hundred articles that:
- are well-written,
- attract my ideal clients,
- expand my brand worldwide,
- create traffic for my sites and blogs,
- sell my current products and services,
- can be leveraged to create future products (a must-have for me!) and
- can support my journey to create multiple, meaningful streams of income.
Whew! I’m all packed and ready to take the first step on this journey. Don’t forget to sign up to my list to stay posted on what works and what doesn’t in the world of article marketing.

p.s. As I write this my kids are playing at one of our newest neighborhood parks. I am typing on my laptop curled up comfortably in the front seat of my car on the passenger side with the front door open allowing in a fabulous breeze.
